JESUS -1 HIS LIFE
JESUS 1/3 HIS MIRACLES
THE CURE OF A LEPER. During his
mission work, Jesus cured many people. One day he met a leper, who seeing
Jesus, knelt before him and pleaded to be cured. Jesus touched him and he was
cured. Jesus then told him to go and see the priest as he was instructed by
Moses. The cured leper could then return to live with his family which was
previously prohibited.
THE MIRACLE OF THE LOAVES OF BREAD.
A large crowd of people followed Jesus as he carried out his work. The apostles
encouraged Jesus to dismiss the people to buy food for themselves, as the
apostles only had five loaves and two fish.
They were not able to feed the people as there were about five thousand
present. Jesus had them sit down in
groups and he blessed the five loaves and two fish and had the apostles
distribute this food. All the people ate as much as they wished. There remained
twelve baskets of bread. Jesus performed another miracle, the multiplication of
bread.
THE CHANGING OF BREAD AN WINE INTO
HIS BODY AND BLOOD. In Jerusalem, on the Thursday evening before his death on
Friday, Jesus invited his twelve apostles to celebrate a meal. During this meal
he took bread and changed it into his body though there was no external change
in the bread. He then took the wine and changed it into his blood again with no
external change in the wine. He commanded his apostles to continue doing this
in remembrance of him. This body and blood is called the Eucharist. This is
repeated by priests during the celebration of the Mass. This is one of the greatest
miracles performed by Jesus.
